I just wanted to thank you so much for sending all my gear so quickly and for making it up/testing it etc.
I a delighted with it.............and itching to go diving!
I am going to need a reg adapter so will call the shop to puirchase. It seems my first outing with all the gear may be Thailand where DIN is less common and I would hate to be left ashore!
It's been a real pleasure in doing business with you & SDS.

Hi Arthur,
Just got back from Oban, had a good 4 days up there, diving was good but weather wet, very wet to soggy, in fact it never stopped raining.
By the way, both suits are great for diving, Jean loves hers and it dries in no time.  At some point though, I may need to get a smaller neck seal on mine as it must have been originally cut for someone of neck size 16 (5th line on the seal) and I am a 15.  I got rather wet on second dive to depth (first dive was shallow to test all kit), but I am going to try something that Pam has to pad it out a bit( a neck band to stop irritation but suspect it may not work and will have to get new seal.
The computer is brilliant and the delayed SMB is dead easy to use as you said and was also good to lie on waiting for boat.  The only thing I did not try, and hope that I never need to is my air horn, but I have the peace of mind knowing that it is there.  So all in all, you have provided us with very good sound advice and some great kit thanks.

Dear Adam

Just a brief note of thanks for the excellent service from yourselves and Suunto on the faulty tank pressure transmission on my D9.  Even though the fault was discovered during the warranty period, the warranty has expired and I am still getting service as if the warranty was in place.

This gives me great faith in SDS and Suunto and will certainly buy from yourselves and Suunto again. I am diving with the computer next week and hope to report that all will be working well.

I just wanted to say - a huge THANK YOU for the wonderful service and attention I received last weekend when purchasing my BCD + drysuit.  It wasn't about buying - you really cared I was properly fitted + happy. I can't wait to try the equipment out!

Thanks again, to you and all your Staff at SDS! Once again, you’ve proved that you are without doubt, the Best Dive Store in the UK (and I’ve visited a few!!)

I called to see you with an Emergency Job, my Twin Tanks had been Manifolded (and trashed) by another Dive Shop (which is, close to us on the Derby/Notts Border), who thought it would be preferable to fall out with me, rather than  fix their fault (they have a reputation for this kind of behaviour).

You mobilised-your-forces and not only repaired the faults, but set up the Twin Tanks for a Test Dive that Night!!

Amongst other things: the Twin Tanks were levelled-up (they had been bouncing around the Table when I brought them in!) The Kent Tooling Bracket, was: realigned (the right way up!) and straightened to slot-in with the Harness Plate (this was then spaced-off the Wing and fitted tight, with Stainless Steel Bolts!)

The Manifold was repaired (it was supposed to be Brand New?) with a New Valve Seat (the original Dive Shop said there was nothing wrong with it!?!)

You and your Lads, then set up the Whole Rig: Inflator/Direct Feed, Dual SPG’s, Reg. Hoses (including adapting one of the Apeks to a LH feed)...Job done! And ready for that Evening...this is on Equipment you had not even supplied yourself!!

 No one could get that Service on the Internet, you can’t beat coming into the Shop and meeting the Staff, including: getting a First Class job done.

I am an SDS Fan for Life and would always recommend you to other Divers. To that end, please feel free to use my comments, as you wish, to promote SDS and confirm your commitment to Quality, to others...

Just a short note to express my thanks to a refreshing positive, quick, brilliant service in supplying my replacement mask. I appreciate a small element of luck was involved, in the Typhoon rep actually being there when my mask arrived, nevertherless I was very pleasantly suprided to receive the replacement the very next day.

This is such a rarity in this day and age!

I still have 3 members of my family yet to learn to Scuba dive, you can rest assured all their equipment needs I will source from SDS, from now on.

would just like to say a big thank you to Dan for sorting out the repairs to my wife’s DUI dry suit so quickly and so well. He managed to get it turned around in double quick time so that she could use it for our last weekend’s dive trip to Pembrokeshire. Great repairs, great backup & service. Hi Margaret, today I received the clip and bar for my broken Tusa Platina mask, please let me take this oportunity to thank you for your quick response to my problem, but above all I admire your approach to it by not capitalising on my problem by offering to sell me a new mask, what I originally thought was required anyway, but by helping me sort my own mask at no cost to myself at all. I will keep my side of the bargain by pointing out to club members that the after sales service that I received from SDS Watersports was second to none. Thank You Very Much Eddie Cocozza

 

 

All Dive Stores are opinionated, SDS no more, or less than others and the arrangement tends to be: the Shop being the Expert and the Customer being the Punter in need of enlightenment- this appears to hold-good throughout the Dive Industry…the difference here, is that you really do know what you are talking about!

I called-in on Saturday, with a Set of Regs and needed some help, I had even considered having to buy a new Octopus? Ian whisked them away and within minutes SDS solved the problems: a new Flywheel was fitted to the Primary Reg. solving a problem-with the Apeks Unit, that it had never screwed into the Tank correctly-the Notts./ Derby Shop where it had been purchased insisted that there was ‘no problem’. The Output pressure in the Primary and the Internal Settings in the Octo. were then “sorted” so preventing the Free Flow problem, which occurred when the Reg. was put within an inch-or-so of water! Despite having been Serviced at another Nottm. Dive Shop!! Arthur, then really did-the-bizzo by applying some ‘Oxygen-safe’ Grease on the DIN thread to “make sure they really will go on easy” and, guess what, they do!!

So with the savings on this Job (the whole procedure costing £12.70) I had the spare funds to buy a new Suunto Vyper 2…result!!!

Once again, thanks for your help-I am converted and will call again…you can even tell me your opinions on the latest Foot and Mouth Crisis etc….I can’t promise to listen…but I’ve gotta admit, you do know your stuff on Diving!!

I would like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to everybody.

Since I began diving back in 2006 I have had nothing but pleasant and helpful ideas and suggests off you all, in times of concerns or uncertainties over certain pieces of diving equipment. I would like to mention the after sales service is better than I have experienced anywhere before.

I feel privileged when shopping at SDS and knowing that my equipment is reliable and safe whilst underwater is a huge relief, as I know that it is checked regularly and serviced by professionals within the shop.

I find the staff most cheerful, professional and greet me with smiles on their faces and have always got a moment or two to ask me how my diving is going, what trips I have got planned etc when I walk into the shop.

I also extend my appreciation to Adam who helped me all the way to finally purchase a 10-litre twin set of my own a few weeks ago. I would like to personally say thanks to him for setting it all up for me and that it is lovely to dive with and will be well looked after.

I would also like to remark on how quick my e-mails have been responded to. As it is about 30 mile trip for me to visit the store, I find the e-mail method of communication is the best way of contacting you for advice- all the e-mails I have sent have been replied in one or two working days which is fantastic and I hope you keep this up.

Thank you once again for looking after me from the beginning and hope to visit the shop very soon. I will be certainly recommending you to future divers who ask me where they can get good equipment and helpful advice.

The two shorty wetsuits I ordered yesterday have arrived at 9 this morning, that's impressive!
I just wanted to thank you for the exceptionally quick and helpful service. The chap I spoke to yesterday was particularly helpful and was more than happy to sort out my sizing problems. He said at the time he would dispatch the order yesterday and it would be delivered before 4 this afternoon, I have heard this from other companies and was a little skeptical but true to his word the order arrived in 22 hours. That's impressive.
The wetsuits and hose are excellent and a very good price, we are both delighted with both the product and the quality of service.
Very many thanks for all your help and as and when we need other scuba equipment you will be my first call.
